As your obstetrician in Westmead, I can assist with the delivery of your baby at Norwest Private Hospital. You can count on me for dedicated care and support throughout your journey.

What to expect from your obstetrician?

When you choose your obstetrician, you may have done your research and reflected on the hospital you prefer. You may have a birth plan in mind and you may have read up on antenatal care options in and around Norwest.

I believe that your pregnancy journey actually starts from the moment you decide that you want to have a baby. It is a continuous, inseparable curve: planning to have a baby, your pregnancy, labour, birth, and the six weeks after birth. I love being a part of this special time for you. That includes helping you with pre-pregnancy planning and making sure you are well prepared for your upcoming pregnancy. Both physically and mentally.

Once you are pregnant, I would like to see you from very early on in the pregnancy and evaluate your pregnancy. As your obstetrician, my role is to assess any risk factors that you may or may not have. Obstetricians agree that early intervention improves long-term outcomes in pregnancy.

What patients say about me and giving birth at Norwest Private Hospital

The focus in my practice as an obstetrician is to offer continuous support on your journey. I understand that – when you are expecting your baby – you and your partner deserve that support. It has been my pleasure, working with many Sydney families, to personalise the experience. We aim to make it a unique and enjoyable time for you and your partner.

Mothers and their partners value the modern facilities at Norwest Private Hospital. It is a private hospital in the Hills district, offering high-class comprehensive facilities. Patients appreciate the experience of the midwives and the excellent care they receive before, during, and after birth.

One of the frequent comments from patients is that my philosophy of continuous care in antenatal and postnatal care really makes a big difference. The setup of my practice in Westmead motivates many expecting mothers to choose a private pathway over antenatal care in the public system.

About giving birth at Norwest Private Hospital

Your birthing suite at Norwest Private Hospital has an advanced foetal monitoring system. It means that as your obstetrician, I can keep a close eye on the progress of your labour. The good thing about the birthing suites at the hospital is that they provide a homely atmosphere: with beanbags, an adjustable birthing bed, mirrors, and other active birth accessories.

The theatre set up in the maternity ward is family-friendly, also in case you need a caesarean section. Your partner and the midwife stay with you in recovery, so there is plenty of space for skin-to-skin contact. The hospital also has a special care nursery in case additional care is needed, or in case of premature birth.

Norwest Private Hospital has 37 private maternity suites with a TV, telephone, refrigerator, and a safe.

Antenatal classes help you prepare for birth in many ways. You learn more about the body in general, and you learn about ways to prepare yourself in the best possible way.

Your antenatal classes will give you the knowledge and skills you need to go through a healthy pregnancy, and to prepare for a positive labour & birth experience.

Antenatal classes and postnatal care are coordinated, so you know where to look for help with breastfeeding. Antenatal and postnatal education may vary depending on Covid-19 restrictions and regulations, and I will make sure we give you the most up-to-date information when we work together.

I come from a family of doctors and it has always been my intuitive first choice to become an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. I basically grew up in it, with my father being one of the co-founders of a series of IVF clinics in India. Care for mothers and the babies they are expecting has always been my first nature and I am grateful for being able to serve my patients in their journey.
So if you are in that phase where you are not sure how to choose a private obstetrician in Sydney, let’s have a chat so we can plan your antenatal care together.
